The Faure was cancelled, but we had to make up the room hire costs, so had ‘an afternoon of music’ instead, with sponsored music students, little groups, silly stuff, and a group of us did Pachelbel’s canon, and an open rehearsal. It worked really well. Then some of us went to a really nice Indian afterwards. It’s very easy, to turn up to orchestra, and then not really do any socialising, so that was nice. And I got a gig. Watch out for my very short recorder solo.
Anyway, if you play the viola (or a different instrument) and live in Oldham, you might like to check out the Oldham Symphony Orchestra, at http://oldhamsymphonyorchestra.org.uk/.
