This year a party; we invited 6 guests, but one cancelled too late to ask another, and another just didn’t turn up (maybe the invitation is in her tray at school).  Anyway, the weather turned out nice, so we assembled the basketball set that Sam got for his birthday (John drawing blood on the pump), and played a few games.  Nobody succeeded in bobbing for apples, so we fished them out with a sieve instead.  Two guests said ‘Pass the parcel is rubbish’ but then found it was okay, because in my pass the parcel there is a prize in every layer.  We played pin the tail on the cheetah ( a carefully drawn cheetah shape cut out of cheetah patterned paper) and musical statues, and had lots of prizes and playing around.  James’s mum stayed, which was really helpful, because she is good at games.  I stressed out over a tiger birthday cake, but Sam liked it, and it was really tasty.  We served sausages and pizza bits and chinese snacks and chicken bites; they all liked sausages and pizza, and had jelly and icecream and little cream cakes for afters.  I like parties, although was knackered afterwards, and don’t know how we’re going to fit 7 guests in next year…
