The day people used to go to confession to get ready for Lent.  I would actually consider going to confession today, but for some reason, there is no organised confession at my church today; the only timetabled opportunities are Saturday lunchtime, and Saturday teatime, neither of which are really helpful.

This leads to a meditation on market forces: the demand for something goes down, so the opening times become cut, so some of  the people who maybe could have gone before now can’t go because they can’t get the new times, or they can’t get there so often, because if one day they are sick or have a double booking, they can’t go to a different time instead.  So the number of people attending whatever it is goes down even further, in a never ending spiral of decline…
