This one has cooking proper, then stewing on the stove, then casseroling in the oven, so it’s not that bad, but you have to do the cooking much earlier than normal.  Got some brisket from the butcher and used Sainsbury’s own-brand genuine proper stock. and marmite, and there were also carrots, onions, celery and bacon.  Served it up with finish-in-the-oven ciabatta rolls.  It was very extremely nice.  I think Sam gave it a fair trial, eating some and Hannah only really ate the bread, but John says I can cook it again any time, and I may cook it again, perhaps in the autumn.
