There are two days in the liturgical year which commemorate conception, rather than birth. The Annunciation is taken also to remind us of Jesus’ conception (which was asexual), but today is for Mary’s conception (which did involve sex). The point is that Mary is believed to have been brought into the world without any original sin, but I don’t feel like philosophising today.

Prayer: O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.
