I used the special blade on the food processor to slice the potatoes and onions thinly, and to grate the cheese. I’d never done these before, but it was easy and fun, and Sam liked helping.  I used Knorr vegetable stock, and Sam picked thyme to sprinkle on the top, and the cheese was Tesco Finest pdo farmhouse handmade vintage cheddar.

Unfortunately, the cooking time in the recipe was wrong, and probably the temperature, and when dinner was ready, they were completely not cooked.  I was most disappointed.
