The next soup is carrot and leek soup.  I have a large leek, but decide that the soup will be better with twice as much leek in, so it becomes leek and carrot soup.  I use beef stock (from bones from the butcher) and the hand-blender (because the liquidizer jug is in the dishwasher).   The handblender is not as good as the liquidizer, but it is good enough (and easier on the washing up).

It seems okay, and John tells me that I won’t like it, which is code for ‘I like this a lot but if I say you won’t like it, maybe you’ll believe me and I will get more.’
