Otherwise known as fruit kebabs. These have fresh pineapple, strawberries and banana, and are coated with a mixture of sugar and malt syrup.
They would have worked better if I’d not let the syrup come to the boil and then left it while I assembled the kebabs; because this caramelized the syrup slightly. However, putting them in the grill tray instead of on a rack helped them to soak up the juices.
I think these were very tasty, and would make a good pudding. It just takes a little organization.
